Whilst Dymocks is a national chain, I can thoroughly recommend Dymocks bookshop in Perth. Their Hay Street shop is large will stocked and well organised covering general reading as well as specialist interests.
In particular, they have extremely well stocked computing shelves, going far beyond the basic books. On how many bookshop computing shelves will you find a complete set of the O'Reilly Unix books and other highly technical works as well?
For a remote user, the mail order service of a bookshop is a litmus test. One which Dymocks in Perth passes with flying colours.
Their staff is friendly and helpful - and they operate a 008 phone
number as well to help reduce the costs or ordering. They are rapidly
able to track down books and after an order is placed, provide feedback
if there is any delay in delivering the book.
