Abstract: Freedom is only one of the ethical aspects of software. But freedom is a tool for ensuring enabling ??? other ends as well a good in its own right -- Need to consider human freedoms more generally, not necessarily just those of the user of the software.

Free software can be evil. Consider, for example, the software for controlling torture machinery - ???.

Or consider software used to ??? medical record system -- it can empower patients, giving them freedom to access their medical histories and make their own choices, or ???

voting software - the code may be auditable, but how it is connected to the actual hardware is also critical -- needs broader ??? free software helps with this -- ??? - but can't guarantee ??? in itself.
