This is a full slendro/pelog set from Central Java which was gifted to the
State of Queensland by the Central Javanese Government. It was lodged in the
Queensland Museum and is on long-term loan to the Queensland Conservatorium.
Its name is Kyahi Jatidiri and it dates from 1908. At the Conservatorium, it
is used by student and community groups. From time to time, we give public
performances and community workshops. Joyce Teo from the Lasalle-SIA
College of the Arts in Singapore has visited on a number of occasions to
conduct workshops.
